Mario Gigliotti

Restaurateur

Mario Gigliotti was the owner of Il Triangolo restaurant, a decade-old Italian eatery in Queens that was known for its homey, old-school vibe, its classic red-sauce food – and its rule that no cell phone usage was allowed. The restaurant closed permanently in October due to lack of government support for small business during the COVID pandemic. On the outgoing phone message, Gigliotti says: “We will deeply miss all of you, but our memories together will always be in our hearts. And remember: no cellphones while you dine with your family or friends.”
